About
Hello, I’m Pierre Brand, a Swiss industrial designer and recent graduate. I grew up in the French- and German-speaking regions of Switzerland and studied industrial design in Lucerne and Berlin. I’m passionate about tackling complex, multi-layered design challenges and turning them into clear, tangible prototypes and products. I love bringing ideas to life through hands-on experimentation. When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me at the piano or in a game of Ping-Pong 🏓
Bloom is a multisensory literacy toolbox designed to support children aged 6–9 with dyslexia during the early stages of reading and writing. It translates often invisible literacy concepts into tactile feedback, helping children feel sound boundaries, rhythm, writing direction and confirmation cues. The system consists of three connected tools: Bloom Cue for phonological awareness and reading rhythm, Bloom Crayon for handwriting and spelling through haptic feedback and air-writing, and Bloom Slate, a low-distraction E-Ink workspace for guided literacy exercises. Together, the tools make learning more tangible, reducing uncertainty and creating a more consistent, accessible and engaging way to practise literacy skills.
