About
I am a textiles designer who is passionate about creating a difference through making colourful and abstract designs for children's clothing and accessories. I am fascinated about the world around me and the experiences I have had, which are all unique. They capture thejoy I encapsulate through photos and memories,which give a new form of imagery reflectingon personal experiences.
This Project was inspired from my solo summer trip backpacking around Europe. The concept for the project was designing using maps and architecture from the cities I visited, recorded through a childlike lens making it feel fun and playful whilst using sensory fabric textures for young children. Architecture is used as a recurring motif invoking the sense of wonder created when travelling in a new city especially when seen through a child’s eyes. The processes utilised in the creation of this collection are Machine knitting, CAD embroidery and Digital print. Different fabric textures are utilised to support the sensory needs.
