Ruichen's graduation work,"轴" (Axisymmetric), challenges conventional furniture assembly methods. This work proposes a revolutionary assembly solution aimed at resolving the tension between flat-pack furniture transportation and user assembly experience. By applying low-temperature thermoplastic materials in the furniture design, it ingeniously combines novel techniques leveraging material properties with digital manufacturing technology. Furniture produced this way achieves flat-pack shipping while simultaneously delivering an experience where users feel. "I'm not assembling furniture, I'm creating it. "
