ARTS THREAD is proud to be the platform for the annual Diversity NOW! Competition.
ARTS THREAD works with All Walks Beyond the Catwalk as the platform for the Competition Diversity NOW! in association with i-D magazine. Now in its 5th edition, ARTS THREAD has supported this worthwhile charity from its very first year.
The project is designed to help students understand the power they have within the fashion and image-making industries to communicate to women and men about their bodies in a positive way, shifting from an objectified relationship with the use of bust stands and models to a more empathic position built on a multi-cultural society.
ARTS THREAD successfully delivered a strong turnout in both quantity and quality for this competition open to UK-based creative students.
ARTS THREAD's involvement:
ARTS THREAD used its contacts with all the leading design schools in the UK, as well as its vast database of students, to promote the competition. The student uploaded their portfolio into a dedicated section of the website, so that the jury could easily choose their favourites.
The ARTS THREAD team managed this process and checked the portfolios are professionally presented. A distinguished panel of judges picked the winners.
ARTS THREAD's team of bloggers and social media experts promoted the winners and the competition partner All Walks Beyond the Catwalk from the start of the competition through to compiling post-competition publicity from around the world.
