[P]REIMAGINED NOSTALGIA
Imagine yourself coming from the future. Full of nostalgia for times that you only hear about in stories. What would you say to your past self? Would you change something in you? Cancelling the preconceived ideas and perceptions of the past, present and future while substituting everything with kindness and beauty eliminates the feeling of impossibility that looms above us. The main approach was to simplify everything, to have in mind fewer seamlines and zero waste, create shapes and volumes without altering the fabric so it could be reused in the future. Made out of deadstock fabrics, using innovative patterns, creating of virtual garments and 3D printing with recycled filament, this collection is the reflection of a practice having at its core sustainability. Effortlessly architectural silhouettes, oversized volumes, signature cuts and unexpected juxtaposition or elimination of textures are forged into shapes to honour the power of women. Consider this a conversation between realism and surrealism, a simulation exercise, a bridge between times long forgotten and a future we can only imagine. A future that we can change through beauty and creativity.
