About
My name is Clara Aurelia, I am an artist currently based in Central London. 'Aurelia' under which I design is the exploration of expression of perspective through artistic mediums. Foremost, my work lies between the blurred line of art and fashion, amalgamating elements of choreography/movement and fine art, painting/drawing/visual graphics, as well as mixed media in the form of instillation and video art.
Mosaics of Being - A self portrait of the External Internal, A project to explore where my particular interest as designer lies, where art and fashion collide. It is a project inspired by my time spent studying professional dance, and a reflection of the way I see my own body. My design process, unconventional, always being with my own body - draping over myself was a way to see how fabric interacts with skin and movement as opposed to a static mannequin. Over the course of a month I developed a series of works to represent my process and the stages involved in creating this gown.
