Isn't the word "memory" a synonym for "labyrinth"? Otherwise, why am I always trapped within it, unable to find a way out despite countless attempts? After a long time, it seems I have found a way out, but memories are ultimately inerasable. So, have I truly escaped the labyrinth of memories? "The Shackles of Memories" is a series of black-and-white photographs themed around puppet bodies, exploring the complexity of memory, emotion, and self-cognition. By recombining and stitching together the body parts of the dolls, the work creates a disturbing and thought-provoking visual effect. Each photo displays different body parts, symbolizing emotions and inner experiences. The contrast between light and dark, along with the delicate texture, creates a unique atmosphere that prompts viewers to reflect on emotions and cognition. This series reflects the complexity individuals face when dealing with traumatic memories and emotional remodeling, reminding us that memory is an important part of the psychological process and personal experience. Although memories may not be perfect or turn out as beautiful as in fantasies, it is precisely because of these imperfections and various scars that we become who we are today. Black-and-white photography possesses unique visual power, expressing emotions, inspiring thought, and challenging cognition. Through the reorganization of the puppet's body, it presents profound reflections on self-cognition and emotional remodeling.
