Living in a consumer-based world, it is essential to conserve and sustainably use the oceans sea and marine resources for sustainable development wherein our basic behavior is to buy just because of boredom or maybe for status and luxury. Unfortunately, we either don't know or chose not to care on the effect it is having on the environment; whether it be on land or the ocean. We have chosen to focus on SDG 14, the oceanic problems of over harvesting. There are different cultures and communities living near the coastline which consume a lot of seafood as it's widely available. It not only just includes reasons as sea food but has other sides too. Disturbing the marine life by possessing corals, shells, shark skin just for the purpose of beautification for makeup products and business in ornamentation and accessorizing ourselves just to look pretty creates a huge impact on the marine life. In China, shark fins are getting used to produce makeup products. Our behavior of overconsumption has become a worldwide problem. The desire for new and more is the consumer point of sale. The practice of fishing too much of the accidental harvesting of unintended marine life is taking place which can be reduced by declaring marine protected areas, reforming fish farm lands, and reducing the bycatch which would result in protecting essential predator species.
