Gróa - CoCrafting Rural Future(s) was created with the aim of exploring and addressing through design, the future of rural life in a Planetary Climate and Ecological Emergency. More specifically, it aims to investigate rural communities potential to inform and have agency in crafting sustainable and resilient futures for rural living. This was done by designing a framework that can help investigate and mediate development projects in rural communities, by collecting local knowledge and experiences and making them visible and valued, thus democratizing decision-making processes. Creating new structures to work with rural areas for their future development is important as they are a vital part of our systems. When we talk about development, we are not only referring to the land, but also to the people living there, the communities, and it is essential to include them in the processes that lead to changes. (This is a collaborative project by Bianca Nobili and Diana Larisa Goje)
