Question: I can't find my account confirmation email from ARTS THREAD? Answer: The ARTS THREAD confirmation email will arrive instantly. If it is not in your inbox, please check your junk folder. If it is not in your junk folder - please check your junk settings - is it set to delete junk instantly it arrives? If you are using an email service such as Mail or Entourage, please check the inbox and junk folder of the domain provider's email account -again, please check these junk settings - is it set to delete spam instantly it arrives? Question: I can't get my project images to upload? Answer: Check you are uploading JPG files - save in Photoshop as 'Save for Web & Devices'. The system will NOT upload PDF or TIFF files. Check your file names do not contain any characters, brackets or accents (+, =, (, é etc). Still having problems? Question: Who can create an ARTS THREAD portfolio? Answer: Emerging Creatives - Graduates and Students from art and design creative programs. Graduates can upload up to 3 years after graduation.

Question: How do I create a portfolio? Answer: Register, click on the confirmation email sent to your email address and then log in.

 

REGISTERING

Question: What email address should I use? Answer: Please use a personal email and not a university email address, as the university address will expire when you leave and also university servers can block your account confirmation email.

UPLOADING IMAGES

Question: How many images can I upload? Answer: You can upload as many images as you like.

Question: My project images look blurry? Answer: You may have uploaded too small a file.

Question: Do I retain copyright of my images by uploading them to ARTS THREAD? Answer: Yes - all imagery remains your copyright. Please read our Terms of Use for all copyright information.

Question: Can I keep my project private until I am happy with it? Answer: Yes - when you create the project, on the dropdown below the project description, set the dropdown to Private. To change to Public, or to make Private after you have created the project, simply amend the dropdown.

 

UPLOADING TEXT

Question: What should I write in the About Me section? Answer: Start with a short profile of what you do and what you want from your career. Follow this with work experience and end with a brief education history.

 

AFTER CREATING THE PORTFOLIO

Question: Can I update my portfolio after uploading it? Answer: Yes, we do encourage users to update their portfolio as often as possible. The four portfolio images on the ARTS THREAD homepage display the most recently uploaded images - so if you upload more often, you will be on the homepage more often!

Question: How can I promote my ARTS THREAD portfolio? Answer: Add a link to your ARTS THREAD portfolio from your own website or blog, Facebook page, Twitter page etc. You can also create an ARTS THREAD QR code to add to your printed promotion such as business cards, flyers etc.
