UNAPOLOGETIC FEAST Masters collection 2022 The story is about a dinner party where the guests lose their manners and become sugar high. The main inspiration was the movie Daisies from 1966. The film follows two girls Marie 1 and Marie 2 in their journey of becoming spoiled. They go through lavish dinners, drink drinks, order deserts and let loose. By the end of the movie the all proper girls have become a bit wild with their make up smudged, hair uncombed and dancing on the table. This made me think of what I have been holding myself back to and should I actually give in the desire I have always wanted to do- smash in the all perfect cake presented in the middle of the dinner table. Prints were created by painting on the fabric directly, combined with hand embroidery. Most of the fabrics are dead-stock, even the silks. The wigs I made from loose wool. For the shoes I collaborated with a friend who does knitwear- to recreate my childhood activity when having family gatherings. As my mother didn't own high heel shoes, I would put something in the heels of my grandmothers knitted socks to make myself appear as I am wearing high heels. The cherry hat was hand made by my brother- as a cherry on top.
