' Hi, I’m Shruti , recent graduate from National institute of fashion technology (Mumbai), I possess a strong foundation in knitwear design with a specialisation in intimate apparel and minor in fashion styling.My academic journey has equipped me with diverse skill set encompassing garment, construction illustration, creative direction and Styling. I am particularly drawn to the art of storytelling through fashion. The interplay of textiles, design and styling fascinates me. I consider myself as a multimedia artist.
Mayajaal - Journey of the lost ( knitwear design collection )
This is my graduation collection. This knitwear collection is inspired by the vibrant Banjara community, known for their colourful attire upcycling practises and rich cultural aesthetics. It explores theme of self discovery and the journey from illusion (maya) to self-realisation, blending traditional banjara elements with contemporary silhouettes. The collection also emphasises sustainability through the use of industrial waste and recycled materials aiming to rejuvenate traditional knitting practises while promoting luxury knitwear in India
