I'm a hand knit dress designer and Bunka Fashion Collage student.

Hi! I am Eun Kim, Mirai Moritake, and Gwangmin Lee. We are the students of Knitwear Design Program at Bunka Fashion College.
For the theme of climate change, our research focused on the plant, whose survival is threatened by global warming caused by climate change.
We designed two fully styled knitwear outfits to present our concept, "the organisms that may continue to survive even in a future where climate change continues to occur.
The plants we chose as the motifs were cactus and coral.
First, let us introduce this cactus motif knitwear. Cactus is one of the plants that is adapted to the dry and harsh environment.
Based on the current structure of cacti, we predict that they may evolve due to environmental changes and would like to present it with our design.
As a design point, we attached a hood and pockets to the jacket, and designed the jacket to be able to hold water, just like a cactus can hold a lot of water in its body.
The hem of the jacket has a leaf-like function to keep rain out, and it can be rolled up for storage. We used light and transparent yarn to reduce the weight and thickness.
Next, we would like to introduce the coral motif knitwear. Coral is one of the plants that are in danger of extinction due to bleaching caused by rising sea water temperatures and environmental pollution.
We are wondering if the coral would evolve in a way to prevent the bleaching phenomenon, so we tried to incorporate our idea into the design.
With the gradation from white to blue by using hand-knitted crochet lace and blister jacquard, we would like to express the coral bleaching and its cooling function in a more concrete way.
Through this collaboration, we realized that the production of clothing causes environmental pollution in some small way, which affects not only humans but also many plants, pushing them to the brink of extinction.
It was an opportunity for us to think about the environment in which many plants can survive for a long time
As a person involved in fashion, we spent several months thinking deeply about what kind of materials we should use and what kind of fashion we should create.
The existence of animals and plants is essential for our survival.
In order to coexist with them, we would like to contribute to a society where many people are concerned with environmental issues and climate change by taking positive action in the fashion industry, which is a genre with the power to communicate.
