I’m Julian Rucker, known as the Third Eye Designer because I both see and create positive futures through innovative design and strategy.
I recently completed a Master of Design in Brand Design and Strategy, and I have over 9 years of professional experience in brand design across diverse industries, including ad agencies, sports startups, and the entertainment industry. My career has taken me to five cities over the past decade, where I’ve had the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills as a brand designer and strategist. My experience spans designing for trade show booths, history displays, print and digital promotions, and beyond. I bring a strong foundation in motion graphics, illustration, photocomposition, publication design, and infographics to create visually engaging and compelling experiences. My storytelling ability, honed through both professional practice and advanced screenwriting classes, helps me craft narratives that resonate with target audiences. With my degree in Brand Strategy, I excel in researching and identifying new business opportunities and crafting impactful brand narratives. My process is rooted in directly engaging with target audiences—conducting interviews, developing audience ethnography reports, and using insights to inform design and strategy.I am a passionate and dynamic creative who thrives on learning new things and making meaningful art that connects and inspires.BioTechnica Fest is a visionary project where I applied futures thinking and rigorous audience research to create an event that merges biotechnology with pop culture. Through in-depth exploration of tools like futures wheels, STEEPX reports, SWOT analyses, and competitive audits, I anticipated industry trends and addressed the challenges in biotech education and representation. Conducting over 15 interviews, I crafted a brand strategy that resonates with young African American men in STEM, ultimately designing an event that bridges the gap between science fiction and real-world innovation.

The Organism Company, an anti-aging and longevity brand evolved from Ginkgo Bioworks, was the focus of a 14-week project aimed at crafting a comprehensive brand strategy. The project involved deep research into Ginkgo's technology, creative storytelling to blend the allure of eternal youth with cutting-edge science, and futures thinking to anticipate market trends. A detailed competitive analysis informed the brand's vision, mission, and values, resulting in a brand book outlining visual and verbal identities. Additionally, immersive spaces were designed, and a robust communications plan was developed to engage the pro-aging community, positioning the brand as a movement celebrating aging with personalized, science-backed treatments.
