During school I loved to paint and draw. As a year 8 student I won an award for artistic talent of the year. This encouraged me to follow this path in my life.

When reaching high school, my passion soon became known to the teachers and they helped me to gain skills and experience by inviting me on trips to London with the older students, this helped me in gaining knowledge of exhibitions and galleries.

After my GCSE’s I stayed at school to do my A levels then followed on to study my foundation at Stourbridge College.

Eventually leading me to Wolverhampton University to do my degree. This step was a change for me as I chose to specialise in glass which I had only done a bit of on my foundation course, therefore I was a novice in this area.

Yet, through time, I have gained much knowledge in the department.

In my academic years my work has been influenced by fashion, jewellery and the female form and this has been no exception to my work at university.

As my course is more focused on the design process and making, I rarely get the chance to do much painting so in my spare time I try and do as much as possible, either for fun or commission based and working to the brief of the client but always putting my own stamp on the piece.
