In my work I have become fascinated with discovering the unexpected appeal in ‘un-precious’ and unusual materials. Rubber bands, balloons, thread, paint and broken gems often feature in my miniature jewellery, contrasting against unusual angular forms. 

Based in Birmingham's beautiful and creative Jewellery Quarter, I make unique pieces of jewellery which makes a subtle yet distinct statement.  

Making small and very wearable pieces, I exemplify a sense of intrigue by removing unorthodox materials from their original state, but never disguising. 

To this the industrial process of powder-coating is added, covering the metal surface in colour, removing the traditional 'preciousness' from my jewellery but adding fun and personality.

I aim to create preciousness aesthetically with small scale jewellery pieces and subtle details of colour and sparkle, which act as a delicate metaphor for looking closely, keeping an open mind and finding something that may take you by surprise.
