Gucci Summer 2012 Collection took inspiration from New York in the 1970's, looking at Bianca Jaggar, Studio 54 and a disco era where a 'shorter, faster, harder' mentality rules. Summer 2012 is bright, raucous and confident. 

For this collection the research began with a skirt made by the Vietnamese Hmong Flower tribe. Hand pleating, colour, embroidery and print are very important in the design, so I developed the textiles techniques and patterns from this to create my own
