My influences stem from architecture and the beauty of city landscapes for their structure, geometry and repetition. The Elizabethan era of flamboyant dress, with its fine detailing and dramatic scale also inspires me, making another link with the language of architecture.

I combine stainless steel mesh cloth- an engineered techno fabric used in the aerospace industry- hand-made paper and precious metals, with textile techniques - folding, pleating, smocking - creating a richly layered textural surface.  These extravagant layers create an opulent feel, recalling a past time of exaggeration and decoration.
