What do you Desire?

This is the question that Contemporary Glass Jeweller Hannah Burns has been asking nearly everyone she meets. From chocolate to freedom, lust to holidays the answers have been varied. This collection of work looks at desire and how we often try to hide what we really want from other people.

Hannah combines cast and polished glass pieces with metal to create interesting jewellery, often resembling a miniature sculpture that can be worn.  Because of her love of making things as small as possible, jewellery was the perfect direction for Hannah’s work to take.

She enjoys mixing glass with silver as the interplay between the two materials often compliment each other in terms of reflection and refraction, and the ‘jewels’ that she creates invite you to look within.

A recent graduate from the University for the Creative Arts at Farnham, Hannah hopes to continue exploring the idea of desire and expand her current range, whilst also discovering new processes and materials to use both in terms of metal and glass.
